Early morning pickup by a random man walking us through the streets to his big white van. I’m adventurous but I’m also cautious and we were both very aware of our surroundings today. Marrakech was still dark at 8am and Moroccan men don’t wear coats, they wear gigantic wool dresses with pointy hoods that make them look like deatheaters so between the dark and the outfits, I was a little on edge. Finally we arrived at an area with many vans full of tourists and we were assigned one. We were both hungry and this little cafe was frying up fresh bread so we took the risk and it was well worth it! Very delicious fresh fried bread. Here is the lady making it:
Our driver was not really talkative and most of the people in our van were German, we drove for an hour, then got out for pictures, drove another hour or two, stopped for a coffee, drive another hour, stopped for more pictures and finally I turned to Nicole and said “do you think we should ask someone where we are going?”
But we figured at this point we were way too many hours into this journey to be asking such a basic question and we might seem really dumb. However we did have a good laugh over this.
Finally we arrived at Bin haddou which is a Berber village dating back to the 11th century. A few movies were filmed here because of the beautiful architecture. I will write and post more here but the WiFi at our hotel is very bad! The images will not upload :(
