Moraitis Winery - Paros Island, Greece
Sunday morning plans: beach. We read up on pretty beaches that are close by and end up deciding to go to Lagheri Beach. We drive up and down dirt roads in our little car, finding private villas and dead ends everywhere. It takes almost an hour before we find the right place to park and walk quite a bit over to this specific beach. Of course it is beautiful and basically uncrowded, but guess what else it is? It’s a nude beach! Agh!
Ok fine, be mature Juliana. But I’m not. And I saw more wieners at this beach than ever before in my life. We parked ourselves a bit before the main beach area as to limit the exposure. About 30 minutes in, we realize it is mostly men arriving at this beach and so we have deduced that Lagheri is a gay nudist beach. Still beautiful...if you are looking out at the water. 😝
We were both hungry so decided to try to find this winery we had heard about (and hope they serve lunch). Moraitis winery is located near the main town of Nauosa and we found it via street signs-no gps necessary.
The winery was just a building with wines and very pretty outdoor seating. The vines were no where to be seen. We ordered a 9 wine tasting and a beautiful cheese and charcuterie board. We decided at this point that we are winery people. Cheese, meat, wine, and beautiful weather—nothing more perfect. The food was yummy and the wines were really good as well! We ended up buying just a few bottles to bring home with us. Adam also secured me a wine key that has the winery name on it. Once my new kitchen is finished, I would like to find a way to creatively display all my wine keys. If anyone has any ideas...I would love to hear them!
