I am here!!!
The dreaded flight was, of course, not that terrible. I cried a lot which was expected but once I found another girl from the class then I had too act normal so I dried my tears. The plane was the biggest I have ever been on with 3-4-3 seats. I got a window and sat next to a girl my age and her Nonna and we all held hands during take off. But really it wasn’t that bad!
It was absolutely impossible to sleep on the plane, I’m lucky if I got an hour of real sleep during the 8 hour flight. They served dinner at midnight (beef, potatoes, carrots/peas, hard bread, and a yummy dessert tart) then the lights went off until about 4:30am when they served “breakfast”, a chocolate croissant, chocolate Milano cookies, and peach yogurt. The plane was so big it was really easy for me to forget that it was a plane at all.
Passport check was easy, my bag was on the carousel right away and then I met up with all the other exhausted students.
God was nice to me. I only have one room mate instead of a triple! Thank goodness because the rooms are real small.
Now I’m off to my first real Italian dinner with the group!
