Catamaran Cruise

Catamaran Cruise

We managed to get to the beach for a bit after that tough start. We felt we didn’t have enough of a tan yet, so we went ahead and purchased some tanning oil called “Creme de Karine”. Corrine specifically liked it because it sounds like cream of Corrine. So we now just refer to it as “corrine”. For example “should we put on corrine?” We were unsure of whether this would cause tanning or burning or if we should wear tanning oil and sunscreen at the same time.

We did put on some corrine and got ourselves nice and oily. Unfortunately it was also super windy on Friday so the sand was blowing everywhere. Oil mixed with sand is not great. Then we tried to go in the water to get the sand off but instead it seemed to make the sand more stuck so now we are both essentially breaded like cutlets.

The wind was also a bit of a concern for our 3:45 Catamaran party boat cruise. Could be not great to have so much wind.

There we’re probably 30 people on this catamaran, most of them girls just a bit younger than us. There is a bar on board and music playing. The boat goes out about 40 minutes to a spot past Praia de Luz. Then we stop for an hour or so and they have paddle boards and a water obstacle course and an aqua mat where you can lay in the water in the sun. It was still super windy but not that bad in the sun. When we stopped everyone hesitated to go in. Two guys jumped in and told everyone how cold it was. I knew there was no way I was getting in without jumping plus we’re in Lagos and plus my hair was oily from Corrine so I jumped off the side of the boat into the freezing cold water.
It was quite cold but felt amazing.
For the rest of the time we were stopped we stayed laying on the Aquamat. A couple of people went out on the paddle boards and got so far away that the crew had to rescue them. When I got back in the boat I wrapped myself up in the towel and danced around a bit. As the boat started heading back, there was much more of a party vibe and some of the girls were getting a little wild.
