Hi!

Thanks for visiting my website! I hope you find some useful travel tips, yummy restaurants to check out, or are at least amused and entertained by a few good stories.

Dinner at Goldwasser, Gdansk, Poland

Our last night in Gdansk and Steve has left us for his family in Italy. Uncle Mark took Papa and I out to a nice place on the Vistula River recommended by the one and only Rick Steves.

Goldwasser was a white table cloth restaurant serving foie gras and "the best steaks in town". Just by the atmosphere and service, I had a feeling they probably are the best.  We ordered a bottle of Bordeaux to try something a little different.

I had an Octupus Carpaccio to start. I tried octopus for the first time in Barcelona about two years ago and I didn't love it. Since then, I've had octupus maybe 5 times and have come to really enjoy the flavor and I'm more accustomed to the texture.

Uncle Mark had the creamy lobster soup that was rich and creamy but not as lobster-y which was probably why I liked it.

For a main course, Papa and I decided to share a Chateaubriand while Uncle Mark got his own. The steak was very tender and topped with foie gras butter. My half was just a bit under cooked but I would rather under than over! I also drenched my baked potatoe with the truffle butter and some sour cream. I'm a pig.

To continue my piggy ways, I had to have dessert. I saw their desserts before dinner even started and I had my plan ahead of time. Mango and Lime mousse with Vanilla tarragon ice cream. Who knew that tarragon ice cream could be so delicious?

Papa and Uncle Mark both had vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce which included some meringue. We all cleaned our plates!

Goldwasser gave us a delicious meal to remember in Gdansk. After me being cheap all of the time, it was nice to do some finer dining. Uncle Mark always takes us to the nice places!

The night ended with a ride on the Amber Sky ferris wheel. I was actually quite scared but Papa wanted to go so we did it! I was glad the ride was 15 minutes, I don't think I could have gone around calmly again.
