Hi!

Thanks for visiting my website! I hope you find some useful travel tips, yummy restaurants to check out, or are at least amused and entertained by a few good stories.

The Journey Home

The Journey Home

In my opinion, the journey home started from Wrocław on Tuesday morning.

I went to have breakfast in the main town which was about a 15 minute walk from the hostel. I noted a few places that were opening at 8am because it is actually very difficult to find places open early! The first restaurant that I thought opened at 8 was closed when I walked by. I moved on to a milk bar which was open but also very, very hot inside and the menu was in all Polish. I tried to figure out what to order but I didn't see "kawa" anywhere and I certainly needed a coffee. I ventured to the next cafe which I thought opened at 8 but it turned out to be 8:30. I didn't have that much time to wait around so I walked around the block. I found only one cafe open but they had no pastries. I ended up ordering a cappuccino from there and getting a pastry at the supermarket. I wonder if people all eat breakfast at home.

The train from Wrocław back to Poland was one of the nicer trains. It was a 5 hour ride and there was food on the train.

Pops and I arrived back in Warsaw at about 4:00. I decided that we should eat "lunch" at 4 and wait until late night to have dinner to help re-adjust to the time change. We went back to Familjna--the milk bar that I ate at on the first day in Warsaw because it was so darn good.

Borscht and pork chop for me, tomato soup and pork chop for pops. 2 "kompot" drinks and one soda. ($11)

We wandered up and down the main road for the rest of the day, stopping in shops, I bought a few Poland made dresses, and lots of souvenirs.

We stayed up late and didn't eat dinner until 111pm. Papa wanted a salad so we went to an Italian restaurant. I got annoyed as I didn't want to eat Italian food on my last night in Poland so I didn't order anything. Papa said the food was amazing so I got a tiramisu and it was the best tiramisu I ever had soooo maybe I should have had some pizza. But I had lots of room for tiramisu! Still, I couldn't finish it.

Our flight was at noon the next day. We got to the airport with plenty of time. I had a glass of wine at 11am in Poland which would have been 5am in NJ. Wine, Xanax, sleeping pill, and I still couldn't sleep for the 9 hours. However, we did see some cool views from the plane. Where do you think this was?
