Hi!

Thanks for visiting my website! I hope you find some useful travel tips, yummy restaurants to check out, or are at least amused and entertained by a few good stories.

Delicious food in Wrocław, Poland

Many museums were closed on Mondays and unfortunately I did not know that ahead of time so there wasn't much to see in terms of museums. From the walking tour yesterday I had learned about Tarwoga Hall which is a market place for fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats, spices, and everything else you can imagine. I wanted to check it out and it was ever better than I thought. Lots of shopping was completed in those few hours.

We were able to eat my favorite lunch: bread, butter, and sausage. My dad and uncle make fun of me for being cheap but I love a basic meal. The butter was super fresh and creamy, the rye bread was fluffy-straight from the bakery counter, and we sat near the stall selling dried meats and had a wonderfully smoky kielbasa. To top it all off and actually make it the best meal ever--fresh squeezed orange juice (sok pomeraczowy proshe!)

We bought so many souvenirs that the begs were heavy enough to warrant a trip back to the rooms. First, we walked through a street known for students artisan glass blowing crafts and art. I bought a few things there too. I never want to leave and think "I should have gotten that."

We made it back to the town center for a 2:00 walking tour on Wrocław during WWII and the Jewish community. It was informative however it was also quite hot out and I'll admit I was more focused at finding a spot to sit in the shade at every turn than listening to the tour guide.

After the tour: coffee break.

But while we were sitting outside it began to drizzle and then suddenly it was absolutely pouring rain and the patio we were sitting on was even flooding!

The rain did eventually slow down and we made a run for it back into the coffee shop. I was the only one with a rain coat 😁

My "Free Walking Tour" map had a list of a few good places to eat and one of them was a burger joint just two blocks ahead called Pasibus. We made a run for it and still ended up pretty wet. Well, they did! My coat kept me dry and warm.

Pasibus has a menu with a list of burgers with somewhat odd and confusing toppings. I was unsure what to get and ended up with their "Burger of the Month". This beef burger was topped with grilled mozzarella, bacon, mayonnaise, arugula, snap peas, pickled onions, sunflower seeds, and BBQ sauce. I was nervous but why not try it.

(Funny side note: they were out of French fries so papa went to KFC next door to get fries...can't eat a burger without fries.)

This Pasibus burger was  delicious.  I can't emphasize enough how good it was. We all loved the burgers. It was so amazing, I was wondering how we can open a Pasibus location in NJ and starting to wonder if they franchise. I'm not sure what made this burger so extraordinary, but damn, it really was out of this world.

To top off a day of yummy food, we ended up at the "Nice Cream Factory" where you create your own ice cream in a confusing manner and they whip it from milk into ice cream.

They had every flavor imaginable from fruit to nuts to sweets to alcohol. I chose Oreo only, even though you can put three flavors in to be mixed. It was just milk and Oreos when I first saw it but the concoction was in a mixing bowl for 5 minutes while dry ice was pumped out of those long tubes. I'm not sure how it happened but they eventually handed me Oreo ice cream with whipped cream. I'm skeptical, of course, but  ice cream is ice cream.

what ice cream flavor would you dream up at the ice cream factory?
