Thanks for visiting my website! I hope you find some useful travel tips, yummy restaurants to check out, or are at least amused and entertained by a few good stories.

Bread 41 and the Book of Kells

Bread 41 and the Book of Kells

Barely recovered from the crazy sleep. Chris was awake all night and slept from 5am-9am but we made it out the door by 9:45 to walk over to Bread 41–from what I read, one of the best bakeries in Dublin. It did not disappoint!

We went for the seasonal cruffin, which had a lemon curd cream inside…I’m dreaming of this cruffin, might return to Dublin just for this.

We also ordered a morning bun and a latte-both amazing. Additionally, we were tempted by an item called “bread and butter cake” which the lady told me was made with extra croissant dough so I was sold. However, it was sort of like a cold bread pudding cake with fruit in it and I didn’t like it at all. I left the heavy cake outside a homeless persons tent, I hope they enjoyed it.

After brekky we walked over to Trinity College which looks a lot like Princeton. The Book of Kells was short and interesting. A really old book that was hand scribed and super beautiful. Learned about calligraphy and book binding. The big library was next which had a gigantic globe in the middle and most of the books were taken out for restoration but it was still cool.

We walked around the campus a bit and found some pretty ivy lined buildings and a metal ball with cracks in it that I didn’t bother to find out what it was.

After a little walk, we loved Bread 41 so much that we returned for lunch :) picked up a mushroom pizza slice, a ham and butter sandwich, and a tart with spiced plums and hot honey. The pizza was the winner for me. I love that thick focaccia bread!

We ate on the rooftop of our hotel since the weather was lovely. Cute little city view before getting ready to head out to the countryside for wedding weekend!
