Hi!

Thanks for visiting my website! I hope you find some useful travel tips, yummy restaurants to check out, or are at least amused and entertained by a few good stories.

Countdown to Greece

This trip has been a long time coming.  Last year, late December, sitting on the couch in Adam's apartment wondering if we should book a trip ten months in advance.  Emirates had a flash sale: $900 total for two round trip tickets from Newark to Athens.  I'd been down this road before and I already knew we would lose $700 of that if we had to cancel for any reason.  We took the risk.  So much has changed since then, but the trip is still on.

Since last December, we have been to Iceland, bought a house, moved twice, got raises, got a promotion, got engaged, attended two weddings, went to Florida four times total, learned more about insurance than I ever wanted to, and have spent the last six months learning how to live together.  Life is tough, but it is great and we have been so very grateful for all that we have.

Last December, I didn't know we would buy a house (though it was on the radar) and it was difficult to decide how long we would want to go away.  We decided on a week, which at this time, I wish it was just one day longer.  We take off on Tuesday night late and arrive in Athens around 4pm.  So Day 1 there is really only time for dinner and some nightlife.  Days 2 and 3 will be in Athens, Days 4, 5, and 6 are on the island of Paros, and Day 7 we take a midday ferry back to Athens for our evening flight on Day 8 (which is the following Wednesday). Don't worry--I'll put the itinerary out soon.

Finally feeling super excited with 9 days until the flight.  Also exciting--flying on Emirates.  I'm still mad at them about our canceled trip to Milan (long story for another time) however I am still super excited to fly on the number one airline in the world.  In fact, I think I'll go look up our flight menu now.

Leave me a comment with any recommendations!
