Day Twelve: Split to Dubrovnik

Day Twelve: Split to Dubrovnik

Last day of vacation!

Woke early for a ferry from Split to Dubrovnik. Got there early and had coffee and bread near the port so I could charge my phone.

Ferry was from 7:40am to arrival at 12:15pm. Pretty smooth sailing and big comfy seats. I took an Uber to the place I was staying. I don’t think I mentioned but the place I originally booked was overbooked and had an issue so they moved me to another place. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was actually really nice and perfect for my last night. More of an Airbnb then a hostel, air con worked well, view of the sea, private room and shower. I liked it a lot.

After freshening up, I went to a bakery nearby for a snick snack. I had a meat burek which was delicious! I ate that while walking to the old town. It was a pleasant walk with lots of sea views.

In old town, I shopped around a bit, wandered the streets, then met Becky for an aperol spritz. Then we decided we wanted Turkish coffee but the Bosnian restaurant was closed. We instead moved to a beer garden for an iced coffee. Then decided to try to get dinner. All the nice places were full with reservations. We tried 4 restaurants before settling on one that looked okay called Kopun.

We ordered to share: red pepper sweet potato appetizer, Mediterranean salad, pasticada (some sort of dish with meat and sauce and potatoes), and a truffle gnocchi with some sort of meat we were unsure of. It could have been tuna or chicken, totally have no clue. Everything was okay. I think the salad was actually my favorite. Oh and wine. We shared a bottle of Pinot noir that was actually super yummy.

Finished the night with two glasses of wine at our favorite wine bar, D’Vino. Started and ended the trip there!

Home to bed and flying Tuesday!
