Day Five: Korcula/Vela Luka
Korcula is the entire island and the main city and then Vela Luka is a town on the island. So we’re not sailing very far during the day.
Yesterday was a chill day, woke up for breakfast, stopped to swim, read a book, sat in the sun, and then had lunch.
Lunch was not for me yesterday. Octopus salad was too fishy, lunch was a tuna steak (over cooked), but dessert was awesome! Tiramisu!
Then more time to chill, I read more and have almost finished my book! Tried to nap but couldn’t sleep, then got ready to explore the island.
There wasn’t really much to see, I took a brief walk and had an okay gelato, tried to give my cone to a stray dog that rejected me, and then returned because it was very hot. I joined a group hiking to a lookout point. It was 25 minutes STEEP walk up and I was literally drenched in sweat like never before. But it was pretty!
Dinner was sort of disappointing as well. We had to go to the only place that could accommodate a group of 11, it was mostly pastas. I shared some cheese and focaccia with another girl, and we planned to go to a wine bar after the group dinner for more snacks. Took forever for food and bill and then walked over to the wine bar which was cute but the food was pretty yet nothing delicious.
In fact, nothing has really been delicious. I’m disappointed to say that Croatia has so far failed in terms of delicious food. But, I’ll keep trying. The views are worth it.
