If you have been following along, yes this is my third trip to Europe this year and no, there is nothing else planned after this! But my Momma asked if I would go with her to visit her mama’s hometown of Gioi, and once a free ticket was offered…I couldn’t pass it up!
So off we go on a different type of adventure: Mom, Nancy, Phil, and I will fly to Roma in a few hours, then take a cab to the train station, a train from Rome to Naples, pick up a rental car, and drive two hours to the small mountain town of Gioi to spend a week at an “agriturismo” which is basically a bed and breakfast.
We don’t have a whole lot planned, as Rossana has been hoping we will be invited to have lunch/dinner with cousins that she has not seen in 20 years. She says there are also a lot of festivals in the evenings where there is food in the piazza. I’m super excited to hopefully experience that!
We have a day trip to the Amalfi coast planned, some time at the beach, and before leaving, Phil and I will do a hop on hop off bus in Rome to see all the sites in a short amount of time.
