Exploring Sintra in the Rain

It was raining on Saturday and cold enough in Sintra that we were wearing jackets! Bad weather for the last day but it was nice to walk around and not be sweating. I think the cool rain is better than the hot sun for this adventure. Monserrate and Pena Palace—the two places in Sintra that we visited, both I have been to before. Monserrate was peaceful with beautiful gardens. Pena Palace made me sad because it has become so popular, it was crowded and so unlike the first time I was there.

We took a $10 Tuk Tuk ride from Pena Palace back to the Chalet to get ready for dinner. What a crazy mode of transportation!
