Hi!

Thanks for visiting my website! I hope you find some useful travel tips, yummy restaurants to check out, or are at least amused and entertained by a few good stories.

Polish Dancing Dinner Show

Polish Dancing Dinner Show

We arrived in Krakow around 4pm and had some time to settle in before heading to a traditional dinner and dance show that I booked in advance. The only bad part of traveling off-season is that normally there are dancing shows most nights and now it’s only Saturday night so we had no choice but to attend this one.

The restaurant was about 100 years old in a cute historical way. We arrived around 6:45 in good spirits, excited for the show. Aunt Mare even ordered an espresso martini with me and Chris! But then it started going downhill. The show was supposed to be at 7. The waitress brought us 3 espressos rather than espresso martinis. Not a big deal. But by 7:30 we had no food and no drinks and the waitress just kept telling us to be patient. Johnny was hungry and complaining about not eating. We jokingly gave him crayons to keep him distracted.

At 7:35, the show started but still no drinks or food. The table next to us had a round of beer and than a bottle of wine—two rounds of drinks before we got one. I was no longer patient or understanding. Truly I was about to leave the restaurant, go next door for a drink, and come back. Finally at 7:45 we received our espresso martinis (which were absolutely perfect) but have no idea why it took an entire hour. The waitress looked so stressed. As soon as she dropped off the martinis we ordered a bottle of wine in case that took long too.

The first round of food arrived at 8pm and I was praying that it would be something Johnny likes. It was Zurek soup which is a sour rye soup with kielbasa and hard boil eggs. I really liked it but everyone else was on the fence with it.

Our main meal came out around 8:30, a plate with mashed potatoes, coleslaw which contained cucumbers and corn, and some unidentifiable meat that was most likely pork. No pictures of course because we ate immediately upon the food hitting the table.

After the drinks, the night was super fun. We all got up to dance and Johnny was clowning around…always the life of the party. Turned out to be super fun but the service and food were pretty average.
